Class 3 garments are required to have a minimum amount of high visibility material compared to Class 2. HIGH VISIBILITY T SHIRTS FULLDesigned for workers who work in both complex backgrounds and who need a full range of movement by the required placement of background, and combined performance materials on the sleeves and pant legs. Performance Class 3 provides a greater level visibility protection for workers that are near traffic traveling in excess of 50 mph and who must focus their attentinon on the work and not traffic. Performance Class 3 - ANSI Type R (roadway) Examples of workers who may need Type R apparel include: Towing operators, Roadway construction workers, Delivery vehicle drivers, Parking and/or toll gate personnel, Airport baggage handlers/ground crew, Railway Workers, School crossing guards, & Trash collection and recycling operations. Performance Class 2 HVSA have the potential to provide longer detection and identification distances, and increased conspicuity performance compared to Performance Class 1. Garments will have additional amounts of high-visibility materials that allow for better definition of the human form. Performance Class 2 is considered the minimum level of protection for workers exposed to roadway rights-of-way and temporary traffic control zones with near traffic traveling in excess of 25 mph but less than 50 mph. Performance Class 2 - ANSI Type R (roadway) Examples of workers who may need Type O apparel include: Warehousing, Workers retrieving shopping carts from parking areas, Workers exposed to the hazards of warehouse equipment traffic, Workers in oil and gas extraction, Refiner workers, Mining, Parking/Service location workers, General construction (not roadway). Performance Class 1 offers the minimum amount of high visibility materials to differentiate the wearer from non-complex work environments and is only appropriate for off-road environments, in scenarios in which the struck-by hazards will not be approaching at roadway speeds, and therefore operative detection and identification distances.
